It'd be the same thing whether it was true or wasn't. Memories are a huge part of what make a person who they are. [ Yuri wouldn't still exist if she didn't believe that. ] Whatever person we go back to being isn't us anymore whether we're actually in a lab somewhere or replicas or anything like that, so we as people effectively die when we go home no matter what. I think that's why everyone gets so upset when someone leaves, even if they say it just means they're going home. It's the same as one of the reasons I keep fighting against letting myself get reincarnated.

But! [ And her tone gets a little more peppy. Because she does agree with Sokka on this, dead or alive. ] You're right about it not really mattering yet anyway. It might sound like a crazy, overly-optimistic dream to you, but I want to get out of here with my memories in tact and find a way to keep the pathways open so that we can all visit each other. So eventually it will matter how we exist here, but for now you're right. We just have to protect each other and I've got something of an idea for that. I'll tell you another time, though.
