If you cripple someone, you can't get them back from that. Killing someone isn't right either, if only here because when you come back they're missing something important. So even if I wouldn't feel too bad about it here, it'd still be a pain in the ass since there's no auto-recovery. Back in the afterlife I didn't care at all because full recovery took less than a day for even the worst of injuries.
