Not really. I'm a little disappointed, I thought you were going to have at least one dirty little secret in here.

[ Not that she's got more stuff that he does. She hasn't even tried to get any personal possessions. Just her uniform and that coat.. weapons... things like that. Opening a few more drawers. ]

I guess I'm just used to having nothing, really. I didn't have anything back in my world, with the witches and everything I mean.

I'm content enough with being out and able to talk with people that won't kill me right away~!

[ Goes over and sits on the bed next to him. She's bored looking through his stuff now. It's time to hang out. ]

Besides witches and your claim on the breasts of the land, what would you say you're best at?

[ She's going to lay back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. Yuri doesn't really care about being in a guys' room. :| ]

I need to organize everyone so we can be more effective.

[Wow obviously she doesn't even care. Battler is just staring ahead, not really looking at anything.]

Well... if I told you I'm better at brains than anything would you believe me? Ihihi.... sure, I might not act like it but-... [he points at all the books.] I really like reading and figuring things out, it's pretty satisfying for me.

And I'm athletic too, that was pretty obvious from our run over here.

If you prove it to me I might put you on a strategy formation team. Can you fight at all?

[ She looks over at him, leaning up to prop herself up on her elbows. That laying down good and proper didn't last very long. ]

Umm.... well... I used to get into some fights at school and I can hold my own pretty good, I also... fought with the witches before and everything...

I skewered Beato pretty good at the end of the fourth game... [he trails off a bit at that.]

It doesn't hurt to get better at fighting though.

I just want to make sure that I don't put you in a dangerous position. I want to kidnap some of the kidnapping droids and if you can't fight pretty damn well then I don't think I'm going to have you be there. I need people I don't have to worry about getting hurt as much.

So, since you're smart, can I run some ideas over with you and you try to figure out faults in them that could get us killed or worse when I need to? I might appoint you as my advisor if you seem good enough at it.

Yeah, running ideas by me is fine. Generally I think about all possible angles before coming to a proper conclusion. I've won matches against a witch like that, I think I'll be good for an advisor position.

They've got access to the shifts that can make the barrier open and close, so if we can overwrite the programming on one of them, we might be able to get some of us out. At least enough to go after the Malnosso.

[Battler turned to look at her.]

You've thought this through huh...? But what about the other droids? If they see you maybe they'll set off an alarm to alert the Malnosso of what you're planning.

Of course. If we do that we're going to have to have a team to contain intruders. Preferrably, we can get one down into the tunnels. I don't know if the droids will work there or not, but at the very least we can put ourselves in a dead end so they can't sneak up on us. It may seem more bleak, but all we would need to do is fight the response team off while we've got the programmers working furthest back. If we get enough fire power long enough for them to reprogram one, we can wait until later to activate it. They don't kill anyone during the experiments as far as I know, so even if we eventually lose whoever they're after, we'll get them back and we can strike when they least expect it by activating our programming on our own schedule, after the droid is already back with the Malnosso. If they get the droid back, the assault on us should stop.

Any objections, Mr. Adviser?

[As Yuri was explaining things Battler had reached up to his color, loosening his tie.]

I don't really like the idea of.... getting someone back eventually if we fail. People have been sent away and don't come back. Hell, even I was here earlier and was sent away before returning again.

I don't remember any of that though.

Neither do I and we're going to try our damned well hardest not to let that happen, but we have to consider it an option. Nothing's ever accomplished without risk, right?

[he sighs a bit.] That's true... I know all about taking massive risks and waiting for it to pay off. Only- I've never seen the rewards.

[he's thinking about her plan though... he doesn't exactly agree with it just yet- but she does seem to have everything pretty well planned out.]

I've seen rewards before. Not necessarily the ones that you're thinking of, probably because what I call "results" from my last world is different than what you might. If we never take any risks, nothing will ever happen though. We just have to try to contain those risks as much as possible.

I see.... hm, well I don't see any flaws in your plan- just that it's very high risk. Everything has to go smoothly or else we might not be getting someone back.

When people don't come back it's usually not from kidnappings, it's because they went home, right?

....True.

So are you saying it's a mission accomplished if they get sent back home? [he frowns.] I'm not too sure about this plan anymore...

No way! I'm saying, usually people don't disappear from getting kidnapped by the Malnosso. Geez, I'm not going to go about trying to send people home anymore.

I was going to say.... I know I have things to do back home but-.. dammit, this place is a nice change, I'd like to stay here for a while at least.

I told you, I don't want to force anyone to go home. Even if I go back I don't know that Naoi will and we're from the same world. If he goes back he'll stop existing. The point of the SSS here isn't to make everyone go back. Just.. to get the ability to get out if we want it and stop the Malnosso from kidnapping and experimenting on people against their will.

[Battler's just quiet as he listens to her...]

Mmm.... right right, I really don't like them kidnapping people or anything, that's just all wrong.

That's one of the reasons we're doing this right? I guess we need to make an official mission statement.

[a sigh.]

...Tell me, honestly, do you think it will work? What are you hoping for exactly?
