I'm starting to think waking up in strange places every time I get seriously injured is becoming a pattern. Is this the second phase of the afterlife? Level 3?

[ Yuri put one hand on her hip, shifting her weight to the opposite. She was still in that little sundress thing, wings still new, back still sore, but based on her gait? She already looked like she thought she owned the damn place.

She reached up and scratched her head slightly with the hand that wasn't on her hip. God it felt weird without her headband. Maybe finding her headband should be her number one priority. Seriously, she never went around without that thing, it felt weird. No, no, she probably should figure out where she is.

Journal first? She hadn't even looked at that thing yet. She opened it up and after poking around a bit, she decided to make a post. While walking through town in just her little dress, because she really doesn't care that much. ]

It's cold out here and I have no idea what's going on.

[ The dullest look on the planet, because really, this is getting ridiculous and she misses her thigh highs. They're warmer than this. Not a second later, she's got a tone that sounds pretty damn commandery. ]

A fountain, okay. [ Yuri looked like she was about to yell at him for crappy answers that bordered on when you see it, you'll be there, but he saved himself with the fountain comment. ]

[ 3 rooms should equal 3 people, but since there's not enough room according to Otonashi, it's not hard for her to figure out. ] Who's the other person?

[...What. He'd complain about having to find this guy, but Luceti isn't that big; he shouldn't be too hard to find. But.. Recruiting? OTONASHI HAS NEVER RECRUITED SOMEONE BEFORE..]

How am I supposed to do that? [Teach him your recruiting ways...!

..welp. How does he put this.] Well, er... There's this kid... [...erm...]

Talk to him, ask him why he was trying to break the barrier, then tell him there's a group getting started that's trying to get out of here and we'd be honored if he wants to work with us. If he says no, bring him to me.

A kid? [ Pause. ] You and Naoi are living together and you adopted a kid? How many months have you two been here again?

[...He's really not too sure how well that will work out but...] Right. I'll give it a shot then.

Yeah, a kid-- [And then it occurs to him how awkward that sounds..] Geez, you make it sound like we're some gay married couple! It's not like that! She's just this kid who arrived here without her dad or anyone else to take care of her, so we took her in. ['We' meaning Otonashi giving no fucks about Naoi's protesting on the side.] She came during the same cycle as me, which was about two months ago. Naoi got here the cycle before that.

I didn't say that, you did. [ A head tilt. ] What are you talking about cycles?

[...all the facepalming. This is awkward.]

Well, new feathers like you come in during 'cycles', as everyone else puts it. Like right now is one of those cycles, which is why you and a lot of other people are suddenly popping up here. They happen once every two months, I think.

How long do I get counted as a new feather? Until the next group of people get brought in? [ She doesn't want to be considered a newbie, even if she is. ] How does this place not get overcrowded?

[That. Is a very good question. He never thought of that.]

..I have no idea, actually. I guess it would be then, or maybe after the first month. [Maybe even once the cycle is over. Who knows.] And people come and go here, so I guess with all of the sudden leaving, it kind of balances out.

How about I consider it once I figure out exactly how many questions everyone else can answer? So far it seems like that's not very many.

[ Yuri looks thoughtful for a moment. ]

You said we're alive, so obviously we're not going to get over any injuries right away.. Can we still make weapons out of dirt like Guild did? Though I guess no one ever taught you and I doubt Naoi knows so I'm the only one here who would know how to even if we could..

[ Great. She's going to have to go playing in a big pile of dirt somewhere to try it. ]

Yeaaah... Sorry I don't know much about this place yet. [sob] I'll just not refer to you as a New Feather then, how's that?

...I don't know about that either. You could give it a shot, though I really doubt you can.

[He's just imagining Yuri sitting around in the dirt, piling it up and trying to make guns out of it. This is a hilarious mental image, and he thinks she should totally do it-- Don't mind him laughing a bit now at his imagination, Yuri...]

Well if we can make weapons, then it'd be pretty annoying if I was the only one who could do it. It's a pain in the ass to make all those parts, why do you think I have Guild do it instead of going outside and making my own every time I want something?

Isn't that assuming it actually works though? [He wouldn't mind doing it if he knew it already worked. At least that way, he wouldn't be making a fool out of himself and looking like a five year old... sob. Besides! He has to investigate the barrier already...! soooob..]

And can't we just get the weapons from the weapon store?

You can make a lot more than weapons with that and we can get different kinds of weapons. Anything you've got a firm memory of. If we've got something that the Malnosso aren't expecting, we're a lot more likely to accomplish something.

Right... [Dammit Yuri. Otonashi is never laughing ever again!]

Huh. I guess that does make sense. I didn't even think of that.. [And this is why Yuri's the leader and he isn't!] It has been a while though, so I can't say I remember how most of them look. Maybe Naoi can help too. [Half serious, and half just wanting to not be the only one dragged into this--]

He's not allowed to do anything until he writes an apology letter.

He pissed off some girl named Haruhi by wrecking the SOS something-or-other. I figured I'd better not start a war before the SSS even started with someone I don't know anything about, so you and I have to force him to write an apology letter. Unless you want to go to war when we've got only a couple of members.

Oh, right... [Still kinda annoyed about that.] I'd rather not be starting any kinds of war with anyone here, especially with Haruhi. She's nuts. An apology letter is really all she asked for though?

First she wanted me to make it up to her, and I told her no, so she said she'd try to extort me and I said good luck. Then she wanted you to make it up to her and I told she should just forget about it since I wasn't even here at the time to be in charge of him and she said she'd accept an apology letter.

[Especially Shiina. (wow I spelled her name wrong didn't I)]

Me? Really? Geez, I didn't even do anything! And even if you are our leader, you wouldn't be responsible for it either. ..But whatever. Guess we'll just have to somehow get him to write that letter then, right? [..hmm. Just to make sure.] She didn't ask for one from Yotsuba too, did she?

Well I called you middle management, since Naoi barely listens to me but he'll do anything you ask of him. That's why she was after you. That means she'll be willing to take the fall if anyone of hers screws up though. [ She shakes her head. ] She didn't even mention Yotsuba. Just the two of you.

..SIIIGH oh Naoi..] I guess that makes sense. [And that's pretty responsible of her if she is willing to do that.. But at the same time, Otonashi thinks people should just take responsibility for their own actions and not put it on their leader. But owell.] And alright. We'll just talk to Naoi about it and get him to do that then whenever you're ready to come over here.
