I'm starting to think waking up in strange places every time I get seriously injured is becoming a pattern. Is this the second phase of the afterlife? Level 3?

[ Yuri put one hand on her hip, shifting her weight to the opposite. She was still in that little sundress thing, wings still new, back still sore, but based on her gait? She already looked like she thought she owned the damn place.

She reached up and scratched her head slightly with the hand that wasn't on her hip. God it felt weird without her headband. Maybe finding her headband should be her number one priority. Seriously, she never went around without that thing, it felt weird. No, no, she probably should figure out where she is.

Journal first? She hadn't even looked at that thing yet. She opened it up and after poking around a bit, she decided to make a post. While walking through town in just her little dress, because she really doesn't care that much. ]

It's cold out here and I have no idea what's going on.

[ The dullest look on the planet, because really, this is getting ridiculous and she misses her thigh highs. They're warmer than this. Not a second later, she's got a tone that sounds pretty damn commandery. ]

I guess I can't really doubt that it's possible to bring people back from the dead since I'm here now.

I wasn't in the right state of mind back then when I made that kind of deal with her. I had just lost everyone, I was desperate to get them all back. So... after that first game, there were three more gameboard laid out before me. They revolved around my family dying in weird and gruesome ways, I had to watch it happen over and over again- and on top of that I had to guess who was the culprit, I had to guess which one of my family members or friends killed them all.

So you're right in that aspect, it was all like a twisted game just meant to harm me and make me go around in circles. Now, as for the thing I have to focus on... my sister was killed before me in that game. She's six years old to me but- in a different timeline, one where everyone died and no one came back to her, she was alone for twelve years. She sacrificed herself for me and... well, now she's here in Luceti. Of course... I didn't think I'd ever see her again, under the circumstances.

[ Yuri doesn't say anything for a bit. That's a lot to take in, especially for someone who also watched their siblings die and really wants to see if any of them are here now.

They'd still be extra-little if they were though, since they didn't end up in the afterlife with her. Somehow she's pretty sure she doesn't care. But... ]

Even if I could see my brother and sisters again I don't think I'd be able to stay here willingly. It sounds like coming to Luceti was pretty lucky for you though, being able to escape all that stuff and see your sister again.

W-well uh... I guess it was lucky, but I still had things to do back in my world. I wanted to find out why my family had to die, why everything was happening in that game, and solve a mystery someone asked me to solve. I have a lot of unfinished business so I'm pretty frustrated but...

[a sigh.] I can't really do anything now.

There are a lot of people depending on me. I was pulled here in the middle of something important, so I need to get back.

[ She stares at him for a moment, obviously unimpressed. ] You said you just got here and you've already given up?

It's not a feeling, it's an actuality. There are a lot of things going on back in the afterlife that are turning people into NPCs. I'm the leader, so it's my job to protect them. I can't just go off on a vacation here while I know that something needs to be done.

[ She keeps her head turned to watch him while he has his little screaming fit about uselessness and witches... then she grins and runs a few steps ahead, walking backward now so she can look at him. ] Good, I was going to have to dump you off somewhere and find things on my own if you were someone who quit that easily.

NPCs...? Aha, I wanna hear more about you being a leader.

[He's walking again, looking at her with a smirk.]

I was the first one to rebel, so I ended up the leader and co-creator of the SSS. We rebelled against God and everything that was wrong with our lives. Pretty much everyone's probably gone by now, though...

[ She trails off. She's not sure what happens after that with her, since it hasn't happened yet. ]

The afterlife I was in was a place where young people go if they had a life that was so unjust that they never got a chance to live a normal one. There's a reason we were rebelling against God. [ Yuri keeps her eyes ahead now. ]
