Why would I make Kyrie an officer? She's a newbie, I barely know her, and she doesn't have any experience in this. I don't know how it's going to work out for her or how dedicated she is to the cause. I'm not going to pick officers based on who I like teasing other people with.

[He shrugs- he's not really interested in this conversation anyways. He's had his fair share of teasing in the past.]

Are we going to find a copier or not Yuri? [and he's walking away from that bookshelf, time to search.]

[ Yuri waves her hand briefly and starts walking toward another aisle. ]

Hey come on it's nothing like that- I just don't like it when we talk about those kinds of things.... I swear you're going to get more ideas to tease me...!

Stop being so fun to tease and I won't tease you so much. Anyway, why do you think we're looking for a copy machine? [ Nope, she's not gonna lie right now. Better to find out if he's actually upset or if he's just whining. ]

And I don't know... obviously you're going to copy something... do you have it with you?

I'm going to hunt down your baby pictures and make giant posters of them for the whole of Luceti to gawk at.

[he blinks.] Excuse me-?

Kyrie said she gave the pictures to you, so I was going to sneak in. I might as well just do it anyway at some point for fun.

[he frowns a bit.... a lot of his baby pictures has his mom in it.]

I don't.... have them here in Luceti though.

[ Uh oh touchy subject. His face says as much. ]

Do you want them?

Huh-....? Aahh.... no no, it's fine! I'd rather not look at them, especially when Kyrie-san is around...

Say the word and I'll stop plotting to gang up on you with her, you know. I don't know all about your family situation, obviously, so if you ever want me to back off you have to let me know.

[He blinks, smiling a little at that.] Thanks Yuri.... I thought Kyrie-san was my step-mom for years, but it turns out she's my real mom. But the mom that I grew up with died when I was twelve.

The majority of my baby pictures has her and me in them.... Kyrie-san sent them all to me right after she died. I think I stared at them in my room for a long time since I missed her so much.

I'm not sure if that's nice or not. Getting to see all of that when you miss someone hurts, but it might've been better in the long run if it gave you some way to keep remembering her. I guess it depends on how you took it.

Mmm... I looked at it as... a pretty sad thing at the time. Especially because she wasn't even in the ground yet and my dad was setting up marriage plans to marry Kyrie-san.

No offense, but your dad's kind of a scumbag. I don't know about Kyrie's part in it, but it sounds like she might've been at least trying to give you something to remember your mom by as a peace offering or.. something.

[ At the very least, she likes Kyrie enough to give her the benefit of the doubt. ]

Well.. I still am pretty mad at my dad for that but-... [he shook his head.] I know all about how much Kyrie-san hated my mom, and how much she hated me for years. She was jealous of me my entire life- basically because I represented what my dad had with Asumu before.

Things have changed now at least.... I can't call her mom just yet though.

At least she seems to like you enough now. I'm a little jealous, even if it was rough for you back then.

[ She hasn't told him yet. This is.. an interesting way to bring it up. For some reason Battler had been someone she'd been holding off on telling. ]

When I was younger, both of my sisters and my brother were murdered in front of me. I could've saved them, but I couldn't accomplish what I was told to do and the one thing that I had found I tripped and broke. Ten minutes for each one and the police came right after 30 so the only kid surviving was the one who was in charge of the other three and couldn't even manage something simple like finding something worth money in the house.

[ Yuri's kind of tugging at a book on a bookshelf, not really taking it out. ]

I'm glad that she's here and you two are getting another chance, jealous or not.
