Cuddle it, presumably. I never had one, so I couldn't tell you. [Though he is mildly surprised that she seems actually confused and not just contrary.]

I like clothes if you ever decide to get me something else. Sports equipment... things I can do with other people. And weapons. I haven't really had a stuffed animal since I was little, it'd probably end up sitting in a corner somewhere. In case you ever have a weird reason or want to get me a present again.

[ Yuri pauses for a moment. It's obvious she's thinking about adding something else, just not quite sure if she should. ]

When's your birthday?

[Oh good. He has a laundry list of things he can get her now. Lovely.]

Mine was way back in February. You already missed it. [And it's Yuri! So obviously she'll have escaped before then.]

Oh well. Next year. [ After being here this long, Yuri doesn't have unreasonable expectations about busting out really really quickly. ] What day is it on?

Twenty-fifth. I gotta say, I'm surprised. You think you might be here that long?

[He certainly wasn't expecting it himself.]

I've been here for 8 months already. I might be stupid sometimes, but I know it's not going to be that easy.

You're no that stupid. Lots of people come in here with big plans to change things. Get everyone out. [He sure did. So many plans back then. So few now.] Kinda hard to believe it's been eight months.

It feels like you've been annoying me for way longer than that.

I can't have been annoying you that much if you went out of your way to get me a birthday present!

I didn't! I just gave them to you now. It was actually in my way.

And the ones I was supposed to get for my birthday?

Like sports or training.

Or making sharp pointy weapons to give to ungrateful women.

[Man, this is a hell of a walk just to get through a kitchen. But the door isn't too much further.]

Well, Yuri. Words cannot express how utterly not-reassuring that is.

[He is all too aware of her choice of words there.]

Hey, that person kidnapped someone that I wanted to be friends with and was trying to kill off-- [ She pauses. ] I got used to using living terms. Take out all of us until we completely submitted to her. I had an excuse to want to take special care of her.

[Color him confused. He has absolutely no idea what she's talking about.]

The person whose throat I cut out. [ In which "special care" means mutilation. ] Well, she wasn't really a person, she was a weapon that came from a person. It's complicated. Needless to say, it was well-deserved and not a real human.

Yuri, your story telling skills need some work. Lots and lots of work.

[She lost him entirely there.]

If I were telling the story we'd be here a lot longer. [ LOOK THE DOOR!! ] I'm just saying, the violence was justified that time. Other times not so much, but I've never cut anyone up if they didn't deserve it.

[Sokka ducks down under the door. They don't need to open it, right? Just cross it.]

I haven't been violent since getting here at least, that's all you need to take out of it. [ No stress relief though besides trying to play sports, but it's not quite as satisfying when you're not the best anymore too.

Yuri eyes him for a moment, then shrugs and follows him under the door. Hopefully this will work. ]
