Sokka! I need to talk to you in person ASAP! Scorpius, you too, but after Sokka. [ Yuri thinks Sokka would probably object to what she needs to ask Scorpius about, after all. ]

Geez, and he didn't even tell me. [ She sighs, resting her chin in her palm. ] So who are you and what's airball?

[Considering the state he was in, Aang's not surprised.]

He had a lot on his mind. [But the other topic is a welcome change.] My name's Aang. I'm from the same world as Sokka. And airball's a special game that my people, the air nomads, played. It uses Airbending and it's really fun!

I'm Yuri Nakamura. Yuri or Yurippe are both okay. Nice to meet you. [ And that's the moment when Yuri realizes she never really asked Sokka anything about himself or his world, despite that he's her unofficial information guy. ] --What's Airbending?

I'll go with just Yuri. Nice to meet you, Yuri! I guess Sokka never told you much about bending. [He does tend to get stuck on the subject of trusty boomerangs.] In our world, a lot of people have the ability to bend one of the four elements. I'm the Avatar, so I'm the only one who can bend all four, but I was raised an Airbender. Airbending involves controlling air in a bunch of ways.

[He makes a small ball of air in his hands over the video feed as a demonstration.]

Good one! I love beach volleyball. [ It's probably one of her favorites. Not her friend Hinata's though. She smashed the ball into Hinata's face too many times for him to love it. ] We should organize a tournament sometime.

I'll warn you, though, my skills lie more in the spectating part than the participating. I've never been the most...sporty. My team would probably end up out first.

Sports are more about people coming together than actually playing the game. If you happen to crush your opponents in the process then that's just a bonus.

You must be out of luck here then, unless there's a skating rink I missed out on.

There's a -- [ two years running, jack sparrow has worked hard at making her a rink once it got cold enough ] -- wait for winter. Someone usually manages to cobble one together.

Huh. I didn't know that many people would be into it to make one each winter. Maybe I'll check it out! You can use the battle dome to make one? When I first got here it was the middle of winter and they managed a warm pool party.

Probably. but...[ she isn't fond of the battle dome. there's something supremely hinky about all that fakeness. not to mention the fact that its rare glitches are creepy as heck. ]

Nothing quite compares to the real deal, y'know? Last time, we even christened the rink with a kind of a skating extravaganza. Kinda worth it to watch the uptight history-dudes Bambi their way across the ice.

Sport from my world that we play on brooms. Rules get quite lengthy and complicated, but the short of it is you have the Quaffle, two Bludgers and the Snitch. You've three Chasers who play with the Quaffle and try to score through one of three goal hoops that are protected by the opposite team's Keeper. The two Beaters fly around and knock Bludgers out of the way to protect their teammates and distract their opponents. As for the Snitch, only the Seeker focuses on that. Catch the Snitch, you earn yourself 150 points.

So, without the fancy names it's.. you toss the ball around and try to score a goal by getting the ball-- I'm guessing a quaffle is a kind of ball since most sports play with balls-- past the goalie. Meanwhile something tries to beat the crap out of everyone unless the beaters beat the crap out of them first and some guy looks for a fancy easter egg to win a whole lot of points. On brooms. You guys had better be wizards or the brooms thing kind of made the whole thing a little lame.
